Peru 2016 - Day 6 - Marketplace evangelism - Part 1

Greetings all
The group is currently in the dining hall writing nice comments to each other, and it's time for me to do this entry so I can get to bed on time.

Three entries once again, but several pictures will run in sets, so not much typing, I hope.
Have to make it easier for Christine A's kids when it comes to reading the blog.  : )

So they like homework so much, I'll be giving them my own homework assignment when I get back and having them correct all the grammar errors for me.
How does that sound Thomas and Hannah. ?? : )

And a comment to Julia from your mom.
"Julia, your blog message urging everyone to hug your family came at the perfect time. Your mom had awakened thinking of you and missing you.  She wore the striped t-shirt you lent her to have you close.  Good timing! Your family thanks you and loves you very much. They all wish you were here."

Janene, your comment today almost made me cry.  Almost. : ).  And we loved the BABE comment for Craig.
Keep them coming. :)

We got to sleep in for an extra hour today.
It was nice.
But 8 a.m. came soon enough.  I actually got up at 7:15 am and people were already up.

I put the blog up so people could read it.
Sheldon enjoyed it very much.  : )

Such a sweet group these Cornwall ites.

Hey Pedro.
Hope that more pictures of you today will help Caralynn.  : )

Sheldon is still taking care of Marsha, Gerry.

We are just chillin before breakfast starts.

Brittany enjoying some quite time...till I interrupted her.

Joycegina also enjoying some quiet devotional time, till her husband opened his mouth and starting having fun and she went into the larger meeting area to get some peace and quiet.  : )

Marsha also journaling.

The guys are still having issues with each other.  Sleeping in the hallways to avoid certain strong snorers.
But when I went to bed last night, it was amazing.
Quiet. Total quiet.  No snoring at all.
I couldn't believe it.
But soon, it started up again.  :  )

Addie, as many people know, has a great hat.
I always know where she is.  : )

.

So, just for fun I thought I'd put in two pictures of ears, and see if you can guess who they are.

Why you ask...... I have NO idea.  : )

Leah's hair is having issues today.

Eventually 8 am arrived and it was time to settle in for comments and devotion time.

The Cornwall contingent flanked by Calvin and Barrhaven.

So in the comments again, it seems that Daniel's mom felt he was being left out when Ryan was hugged (which wasn't actually his mom who wrote that comment, so don't be too confused Karen. : ) )   So she asked if he could be hugged as well.

And he certainly was. : )

And it seems that Julia wanted her brother and dad to be hugged too. More to annoy Steve than to love him, as the comment suggests.  : )  It was awesome.

And it was fun to watch the pain it caused Steven.  : )

Then, it was time for Pastor Steve to do his devotional again.  Today he focused on the power of children.  How they bring out all sorts of great things in us, and they do.
How they show us love, even though many here have hard lives, but they just love.
They accept love, and receive love.

Time for breakfast.

The same fare again.

This morning Cynthia had her fiance join us for the day.
His name is Rhuls.
They get married this summer.

Our faithful translators who meet every morning for breakfast and prayer.

Mom and daughter.
Both seem to be having a great time.  Whew.  : )

After breakfast it was time for dishes again.

Such a nice couple.  : )

This area in Peru is a dusty place.
Katrina's hat used to be white.  : )

And Lauren's too.

Off to the bus again.

And on the bus again.

I almost forgot the crafts today.
I was walking to the bus, and God told me to turn around and go back and get the luggage.
I can't explain it any other way.
That thought just impressed itself on me.
Strange, but good.  : )

And once on the bus, I took my numerous bus shots.
Joycegina and Annette were very rude to me, telling me to move on.  Sigh.

I still like the yellow head covers. : )

And of course the hair braiding continues.

And a game of Euchre broke out today too.

Oh, it's not Katrina and Ella together today.
Are they fighting? Hmmmm   : )

That is an Erin face.
Really.

Lots of great conversations go on during the bus ride.
And different people get to know different people and that is fun to see.

A nice picture of Lucy.
You know Lucy, even though we bug each other a lot, and we do, I respect you a great deal.
Just wanted you to know that.
And don't get all mushy on me....as I know you won't.  : )

Gigi, uses the bus ride to do her Bible study time.
Except when I'm bugging her about something, or nothing at all.  : )

The traffic today was much better.

We made it to Gamaliel church in 1 hour 15 minutes.

Today  a small group did construction, which was moving more concrete.

Lots of heavy, sweaty, hard work, but those who volunteered, loved it.

Hmmmm, how did this shot sneak in there.
A nice plane shot.

We also had Sheldon, and Zoe and Michelle? painting today.

The rest of us did something we have not done before in Peru.

We prepared for Market evangelism.

We explained as best we can what we were going to do, and then we split off into 5 groups and prayed for God to work in our hearts and the hearts of those we were about to meet.

We took a 10 minute walk to the market.

And we started by inviting people to listen to a drama presentation done by Canadians.

This is not something we would do in Canada, I can assure you.  : )

While in the market, we did see more chickens and roosters up close.  : )

Even some beef, but that is more expensive.

Daniel video taped the experience for us.

And Colin met Fernando finally today.
He was very excited about that.

We also met Justin B in the market.  : )

There were quite a few kids in the market.

Inviting more people, and giving out the salvation bracelets a wee bit early.  : )

Even here Lucy finds kids to hold on to.  : )

A nice picture of Gigi.

There is a CAT in that display booth.

Gigi with some of the people from Gamaliel church that joined us for the market evangelism.

We continue to meet and invite people.

Part 1 complete.  Move to part 2 if you wish.
