Peru 2016 - Day 3: A long but good day. Part 1

All Righty................ (That was for YOU John. !! :)

Day 3 is complete.
Some of the group are playing PIGS out in the courtyard.
It just started to rain a little bit as well.
It's 10:30 pm and I've just got the pictures on the Blog.
Yes, today there are A LOT of pictures.
I just couldn't whittle it down, but you will see sets of pictures that will speak for themselves, I hope.

Before I begin let me thank you all who are sending your comments to us. I see I will need to read about 25 of them for tomorrow morning, and they are NOT all from Cornwall this time.  Yeah!!!!  : )

The day began at 7 a.m.
Some of the group started to read the blog, but there's very little time for that.

They will need this blog to remind themselves of what actually happened during the week, since sleep is always at a premium.

Tobie and Lucy were actually happy this morning.  : )

Dianne is still smiling and all GAGA that Steve is here.
Sorry Julia.  : )

I'm reading the comments to the group this morning.
I found John's to be the most educational.
You can cease and desist and start picking on your own family if you don't mind. : )

The group enjoying hearing from you all.

After the comments we had a devotional from Pastor Steve.

7:30 was breakfast.
Our interpreters are amazing.

The food is great too.  Same fare as the day before.

Morning social time.

Marsha enjoying her Nutella

The group gathered together.

What do you want Lucy.

Oh, I get it.  Lucy had the camera and she wanted me to start posing like in a photo shoot.
I did....... (for YOU John) no, not the posing.....the.....  : )  .

That was fun.

Sunscreen time.

Ryan....how ya feelin this mornin'

Brenda getting ready for the day.

Peter feeling his stubble on his upper lip.

Dishes crew.

Wake up Daniel.

Tobie with her usual happy face.  NOT  : )

Sheldon, make sure you put it on ALL of your face.

So, I decided it would be neat to have a photo shoot competition.  So Lucy posed for the Camera.

How nice.

And then Gigi wanted to get in on the competition as well.

So YOUR job is to vote now for the best poses.
There will be a prize for the winner, so votes do count!!!

Lucy is trying to stay away from a REALLY big June bug.  At least it looked like one.

Off to the busses at 8:30.

As we walk we go through a garden type area.

We had a different bus today.

Not many windows...this should be fun.

We were high up today.

Came with a bathroom, but you could only pee.  : )
It was locked, actually.

A view of the back.

And of the front.

Daniel is our driver for the day.  : )

Braiding broke out.

I decided to stand for most of the way, as there was a window by the lower door and a good breeze.
Also, good fellowship with Peter and Pastor Craig.

Hey Andrew.

More braiding.

And more.

As we drove, Joycegina and Colin took more pics of the sites.
Enjoy.

More of the FRESH chickens.

These are actually roosters.

Something new this year.
A driving school.
Interesting.

Sewer system under construction near Pachacutec.

So, we have 1.25 hours on the bus each day, and you need to fill the time with more than just talking, though talking is good.

So we played "What are the odds".
You think of something to do, and try to figure out between two people the odds. If you both guess the same odds, it has to be done.
But here, I'm actually just bugging Samantha.

Lucy and Tobie going at the game.

Sam lost.  She had to say, "It's St. Patrick's Day" to everyone on the bus.

The three sisters.
They actually seem to get along quite well.

Ryan had to use Peter's head as a crystal ball.
It sure was funny.

As we drive, we do pass by some pretty noxious smells.
Since we didn't have Gerry here to use ear plugs to plug his nose, we have George, using gummy's to do it.

And Andrew.

Gerry, no worries...these two are taking up where you left off. : )

More pictures of our journey to Pachacutec.

We arrived at 10 ish.

George emptying his stale water.

I'm tired, and waiting for Gigi to get organized.

We broke off into our four groups.

This group went to the center with special needs kids.

The were happy to see us.

Pastor Craig making yet another friend.

Lucy is a natural.

Kayla and Lucy getting to know this child.

Dianne explaining the craft they brought along.

Time to do it.
Lauren had fun at the centre.

Awe.

A nice hug.

Time for some games.

Ring around the rozy?

Are you scaring the kids George.?

No, he's just having fun.
As usual.

Before you knew it it was time to say farewell.

We had Andrea, Peter and Ryan do some English teaching.

They used a familiar song to practice English.
Can you guess what the song is?

I took some pictures of the kids at the school
They sure like the camera.

Another group painted the fences at the school.

Hey there Tobie.
You need to find that smile.  : )

Daniel and Colin.

Even Gigi was hard at work.

Pastor Sergio is always hard at work.  : )

The three English teachers moved on to other classrooms.

The school was on lunch break.

And they all wanted their picture taken. : )

Gigi, what are you doing?

Smile.

A break from painting.

Then back to work.
We had a bit of a breeze today.
Very welcome indeed.

Daniel is all thumbs.....He even painted his.

Gigi back to work again.

And I took a nap for a short time to catch up on the sleep I didn't get last night.

Before we knew it, it was time for lunch.

Our interpreters always seem to take the place by the door.  A nice cool breeze there.
Those of you who have been here, know exactly what I'm talking about.   : )

Tobie is sooooo popular.  : )

Marsha playing some sort of hand game.

Oh, yes, back to another group.
They went to the orphanage, but it seems that there weren't that many kids there for them to interact with.

One or two.
Michelle is certainly having fun.

So, they helped organize stuff instead.

That's a cute picture.

And that's a nice picture.

Addie having fun.

The final group did home visits.
Always a highlight.

Ok, Part 1 is done.  Move on over to part two if you wish.
