Peru 2016 - Day 4 - Routine Sets in and Fountains - Part 3

Part three, the home stretch.... : )

VBS Songs.

Cute kids all around.

Most kids are really into the song actions.

Time for VBS Drama.

And during that time the women met once again with Annette, Joycegina, Miriam and Andrea.
10 women today.
Seems this group is starting to gel.
They broke off into two smaller groups today and when I came into the room after VBS was over, Annette and Joycegina were still meeting and praying with one of the moms.  Some good ministry going on in this group.

But back to VBS and story time.

Today it was the feeding of the 5000

Dianne with Jesus

Dianne had the children enact Jesus telling his disciples to find food and he blessed it and multiplied it.

There were 12 baskets left over.

we brought the baskets to the front for all to see.

There they are.

After VBS the interpreters review the story and memory work and give out food prizes for those who can remember and recite.

Hey Steve.

The memory work.

There is no school tomorrow, so we are going to replace two classroom concrete floors and part of a patio.
No sooner had class ended, and the jack hammer started.

Tomorrow we are going to have to clean up all that rubble.
And it's going to be hot, but I've had no one say they don't want to work.  Neat.

Ok, so back to CRAFT time.
Time to explain to the group.

Then sit down and colour.

BRITTANY!!!! Helping with crafts.

Some groups are a wee bit unorganized.

and some are quite organized.  : )

Everyone is having a good time colouring.

Daniel entertaining Pastor Craig.

We also had children put names of who they thought Jesus was and had those names go on a prayer weave.

The weave done, but I'm too tired to rotate it.
I'll do it tomorrow. : )
There done!

Then, before we knew it, VBS was OVER and it was time to do the TRAIN and bridge exit and hand out the balloons.

These three just wanted their picture taken.

Bus ride home.  The traffic was BAD today.

Dianne had a full day.  : )

Pepe too.  He always does this.
Well deserved.

I love the yellow colour coding.
Oh High Kayla.

Tobie has had enough for one day

Peter has a head ache -
I think too much people time.  : )

Ella needs to get that red off her face before it becomes a permanent thing.

We arrived home and it was Supper time.

The interpreters seemed to find their way to the dining hall quite quickly.  : )

Potato appetizer in a mild spicy sauce.

The group chillin over dinner.

It was Sam's Bday today so I arranged to have Pastor Craig Skype call him.  Janene saw my face first.  Yes, it was a shock to her system. : )

Glad they could have had the time to connect.
I was going to get a food shot of the main dish, rice with veggies and chicken, but I had to get the internet working.  Didn't want to cooperate.

Awe.  how cute.

And after dinner it was back to the bus for a trip to the fountains.
These girls all did double buns in their hair.

A strange group.

We arrived at the fountains and paid and entered.

Hey, BRITTANY again.

And AGAIN.  I think she's had enough of me.
So I hope you are all satisfied that I now have Brittany in our blog.  : )

Oh, there she is AGAIN  : )

Time to focus on the fountains.

How cute.

Nice pose.

Apparently Joycegina wants to become a preacher.
Preach it dear.  :  )

Annette was listening.

 Silhouette  shot.

hmmmmm.....nice tonsils.

Gigi staying connected to the outside world.

More double buns.

Hey, the twins once again.  Can you tell which one is Erin, and which one is Samantha?

Time for the fountain light show to begin.
It was a different one this year.

And then a trip through the tunnel fountain.

And finally to the fountains where we can all get wet.

Most of us did.

Seems Dianne didn't want to go in, but Brenda made sure she did.

Andrew, you actually went in the fountains.
I apologize.  : )

Uh oh.  Time for Miriam to get wet.

Yes they dragged me in too.

Water up the nose.  No fun.

Time to dry off.  It got pretty cold out.

Hey, our interpreters didn't seem to get wet at all.
Well, so long as they are happy.
We want happy interpreters.

Soo, that ends Day 4.

1/2 way done already.
Lots has happened that is being recorded in our reflections each evening.  Hopefully those reflections will be reviewed back home and pondered over.
I know that the group is growing in their love for the people of Gamaliel church, and for each other.  Nice to watch.

Tomorrow is another regular day, and Peter will also give one of two presentations tomorrow night.
I'll be hanging out with him for the night, and working on pictures as he's speaking.  :)
Hope you enjoyed all the pictures today, and if I missed anyone else, just let me know and I'll be sure to include more of them in future days.  :)

Hope there weren't too many grammatical errors, but it's 1:15, and I'm pooped, and off to bed.  John can fix them for me if he wishes too. :)

Blessings to you all from Lima, Peru.

Hey Dad,
Try and get more photos of yourself in the blog. It's hard to think of comments to write when I don't have a lot to work with.
Thanks,

Hey everyone! Glad to see you're having such a great and memorable time.

However, we think there was a little too many BRITTANY pictures.. I mean we read this blog for everyone not just her, we see her enough at home, thank you. Other than that, we love seeing the pictures of everyone spreading God's word.

Andrew please keep things out of your nose. And Brenda/Mom, you make us so proud with your devotion to your faith and the Peru mission trips. Sending an infinite amount of love to Britt and Brenda and the rest of the group!

Oh and we haven't heard from Robert at all, must be in a tax coma or at the casino.
Love,
Brad and Linds xoxo

Hello all,

Looks like another amazing day! Steve, we are all missing you. The boys are glad you've picked up some face painting skills and looking forward to some experimentation. Ben chants "daddy, daddy, daddy" while we scroll through the pics. For the rest of you, I thought I should offer some tips for surviving the snoring. Fall asleep first. Replace counting sheep with counting snores. Failing this, a firm but kind wake up is often successful to give a few minutes of reprieve. Repeat steps. Thinking of all of you!

Hey Ron:
Wow. Three blog posts and you used ellipses only eight times. Very few trailing off thoughts. Very impressive. How did you do it? Are you back on coffee?

Also, In case you hadn't noticed, you have half of the Redeemer High School girls basketball team with you.
As you well know, Ron: you can't be too prepared. So if the situation calls for it, here's the plan:
Get Lauren to guard their leading scorer. Put Lucy in the low post, Tobie in the high post, and have Samantha bring the ball up.
Oh wait -- you've got Addie there too. Ok, put Addie in the low post, Lucy in the high post and Tobie on the wing.
Tell Kayla that I forgive her for not playing this year, but she's going to have to start the game on the bench.
Ella can play too, but she's going to have to put in extra practice time.
If they start slacking off, have them run wind sprints.

That's all I've got for you. You're going to have to figure out the rest.
