Peru 2016 - Day 4 - Routine Sets in and Fountains - Part 1

Greetings all.

So, it's 11:40 pm.
Just got all 350 pics uploaded to the blog.  Yep, couldn't get rid of them, they were so good.
But I'll not be commenting on all of them.

Today was another great day in Pachacutec.
We settled into our routine, and then went to the fountains at night.

We awoke at 6:30 ish to be ready in our large meeting room for 7 am

You can see that Andrew is the keener here. Even has his cup of coffee.

The room looks so empty.

I'm getting things set up.
You'll notice I'm wearing green today.

More people start sauntering in.

Lucy and company getting into the St. Patrick day mood.

And of course, braiding hair.

Pastor Steve shared another devotional this morning.
More on that later.

I shared more of your wonderful comments today.
Thanks for them.
Let's us stay connected to home a bit more.
And don't worry, I've taken some of them to heart in this set of three blog entries.

Breakfast once again.
Same fare, but always good.

Miriam smiles once she gets her coffee.

Everyone starts to wake up over breakfast.

What!  : )

After breakfast it is dishes time once again for group #1.

Preparing our lunches.

Hey Ryan.
Smile.

Hey Kayla and Lauren.

So, some of you have commented on the possibility that Pastor Steve and George snore.
Here's the proof once again.
Two moved out into the hallway.

And George moved into my upstairs space so he could escape the ravenous snores of Pastor Steve.
I went to bed at 12:30 yesterday and had to laugh when I entered the building.  It was like a symphony.  Harmony all around.  And LOUD.
And George snores TOO....so I had to endure that.

The rooms are getting messy now.

And this one sparce on beds.  : )

Joycegina cleaning the tables.

Marsha and Dianne enjoying some down time.

Steve brushing his teeth outside.
Ewwwww

Always the consummate actor that Ella is.

Our translators enjoying breakfast.

Hello there Addie.  Emptying your shoes into the flour pot eh.
We do that every year here.  : )

Sun screen application time.

Soooo, apparently Brittany (with an A) doesn't seem to be on this blog that often. Well today we make up for that.
BRITTANY!

In honour of St. Patrick's day, I posed for some more pictures.  : )

My confused look....I have it often.

Creepy Ryan.

Peace out Ella.

Katrina getting ready.

Hey there Pastor Craig.  You awake?

Andrew..

Brenda getting ready.

Zoe braiding her own hair.

Nice cheeks Ryan.

I'm closing down everything so we can leave.

Everyone waiting to go.

In honour of St. Patrick's day Lucy also posed for some pictures.

With Sheldon.

More braiding.

And more....

Awe, a nice picture of Gigi.

Almost ready to go.

All of us who wore some sort of green today.
Oh yeah, it's my dads 85th bday today too.
Happy Bday Dad.

Time to head for the bus.

Joycegina and Gigi took a short cut through the garden.

To beat everyone to the gate to get a picture.

Waiting for the bus to come.

Lots of taxis taking people around.

Hey there BRITTANY!!!!!

Peter getting his dose of solitude.
You give up your privacy when you come on a trip and for some, that's a big deal.  So you find solitude any way you can.

BRITTANY waiting for the bus.

Our wonderful Interpreters.  Here's Debora.

Hey Judith.

Ok, on the bus.
A bus with more windows today.  Yeah.

Katrina and Ella journaling.

And Debora reading.

And of course, more braiding on the bus.

Ella and Katrina also put their Spanish on their water bottles.

The bus with lots of conversations going on.

Gerry, Sheldon is taking care of Marsha...though you wouldn't know it by seeing this picture of spraying sun screen ON her face.  : )

Just kidding.

On her arms actually.

Tobie gave us a lesson in how to get a great sunburn.
It's blistering now.
MORE SUN SCREEN everyone. !!!

The view from the back of the bus

We arrived at Gamaliel church at 10 am on the dot.
We split off into our different groups right away.
One group went to see a lady that Bea had visited two years ago.  This is a card from Bea.

And her home.

Outside her home.

Another home visit.

They are special times.
Each visit is different, but good.

Thanks for posting the picture of Maria, Ron! Actually I first met her 8 years ago, the first time I was in Peru. She was the lady I visited when I held her chicken......and got very sick! I gave her my Spanish/English dictionary, and she wanted to give me her chicken! Two years ago, I wanted to meet her again, but she had moved away. Annette gave her my card on another trip. Wow! She still has it! If anyone talks to Maria again, can you tell her that I pray for her?
I also pray for all of you! May you be blessed, and be a blessing to everyone you meet!
