Peru 2018 - Day 2 - Tuesday - The real travel day

Tuesday, Day  2
Or is that day 1

Up at 5 a.m. to be at the airport for 6 a.m.
We all arrived on time and headed into
 the morning airline rush.
For most of us our check in went smoothly, but for some of us (me and a few others) we had to go in line again because our check in wouldn't work.
BUT, all worked out eventually and we are now in the Montreal airport chillin.

Fun Fact: taxiing and de-icing took longer than the
 19 minute flight

When we arrived in Montreal I wanted to get
a group picture.
We found out Dianne has decided to live by a slightly different motto than:
Go...Learn...Love.
Her "L" seems to have fallen off and she's simply going to Go and Earn.  We had a good chuckle.

Ella preparing for the group photo.

Our group of 16.
Ready for 7 hours of waiting for our plane to Lima.

We found some nice comfy chairs to relax in as we waited.

And prayer time between friends.

And sleeping time.

And crazy time, thanks to Ella.

After Joycegina, Katrina, Ella and I got breakfast, I took a walkabout in our deserted corner of the airport and found the Pass the Pigs Players.
Apparently the Star Bucks worker saw them playing and gave them prizes to hand out.
Food items for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. Neat.
As you can see they look quite happy.

And FINALLY I am getting the chance to play.  : )
As you can see I'm quite excited.

And I even got some points.
Such cute little pigs.

After several games of PIGS (and I lost every game btw) we returned to the group.
Everyone chillin in their own way.

Awe, so cute.  : )

Annette even brought her needle and thread so she could fix her favourite socks.  Too Funny ! : )

George played PIGS just a bit too long today I think.  : )

Katrina journaling

Katrina took the camera and took some shots of me.
Sorry about that.  : )

This is what we hope to do while in Peru.  : )

Time for lunch. Kendra and Steve found a nice place.
I'll have to ask them where they went.  : )

Kendra and Ella playing the smallest game of chess I've seen yet.  : )

Katrina reading her Bible.  Whoot !

Dad and daughter moment.

Supposed to be sleeping, but you can tell this was staged. :)

The plane can't take off soon enough.  : )

The view we have had all day.

After lunch we gathered to go over some things for tomorrow.

Annette and Dianne having some alone time.

A nice big plane coming in.
I had to watch.

Learning another new game.
It's 3:55 now.
Time for us to move to our gate for departure.
If you read this before the morning, pray we have a safe flight. Arrival time is 12:35 A.M.  in Lima.
It's time to get things started.  : )

Katrina, if you’d told me the unofficial theme of the trip was tiny games I could have given you my mini Mastermind =p.
Nice to see everyone made the best of the whole situation. Hope you all have a wonderful Day 2/3.

Hey Ron:

I was interested to learn that you were going to get other participants to write the blogs for you. Great idea! Problem is that so far they write exactly like you. A tribute to your stellar leadership no doubt.
I think it was very kind of you not to mention the last minute panic when one of your people forgot a critical piece of luggage when they showed up at the airport at 6:00 am.
Probably a good idea not to write about it, since that would be embarrassing for them. Very kind of you.
Please give my love to Ella and my lovely wife. And please tell Annette that I'll make extra trips to the airport for her any day.

Hi Travelers, Here is the Prayer of St Francis for you, for today and all week.
Peter

Lord, make these travelers an instrument of your peace:
where there is hatred, let them sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy.

O divine Master, grant that they may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console,
to be understood as to understand,
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
Amen.
