CIA/ETM Helps out at the foodbank

Greetings all,
Been a while since I've blogged.
Time to catch up. : )

We will start with one of our annual January traditions.
Helping sort food at the Ottawa Food Bank.
We have arrived and are waiting for instructions.

For the newbies this is always a good time of instruction and letting us know what the food bank is all about.

All the smaller food banks that the Ottawa Foodbank serves. There are many.

The not so new binning system.
Way better than what they had before.

Some last minute instructions and then....

...we got going.
One group unpacks the bags.

And you can see Adalia is having fun already.

And Rachel, well she just always finds the good in things.

On the other side of the bins, when they are full and sorted, this group boxes them and puts them on pallets.

Jeannine making boxes.

Takes a while to get the swing of things, but eventually a rhythm always starts.

Hmmmm, Corbin and Nicholas watching Joshua working...hmmmm  : )

Full boxes being taped up.

Some items just don't fit in the boxes.
They go in another bin.

Unpacking the food.

And then decisions are made as to what bin to put the item in.  Decisions, decisons, decisions.

Corwin and Rhys, brothers working together. ish... : )

The bins that food gets sorted into.

A lull as another skid of food is brought.

Victoria, you look so lonely.  : )

Ah, Corbin finally working.

Nicholas and Gillian - brother and sister working together.

Hey Caralynn : )

Hmmmm, what do I do with this ?

I think Kyra feels overwhelmed.  : )

Lots of time taken figuring out where to put what.

eh Jeannine. : )

Karlena having fun.

Ella always having fun.

Everyone working so hard.

tight space, but everyone seems to work together.

Sometimes you need a second opinion of something.
I don't think Kendra knows what to do with that small package.

Maybe Elizabeth does.

Hey Gillian.
Still having fun I see. : )

Kyra still having fun too.  Whew. : )

Box makers.

Works like a well oiled machine once everyone gets the hang of things.

After 1.5 hours we were done our part.
A great group doing a great job for a great organization.
Until next year.  : )
