Pancake Breakfast for Peru2018

In just a few days a group of 16 people will embark on our final trip to Peru.  It's been 12 years now, with this being our 7th trip I believe, and it's been a wonderful journey of learning and growing with our Partners in Gamaliel.

One of our standard fundraisers is to hold a pancake breakfast, and this time it was done in early January.

We always have a Friday evening prep night.  Katrina and Kendra are getting rolling.

Ella is preparing the mounds of fruit we need to cut.

Steven and Annette peeling and peeling.

And John (yes he agreed to once again be our cook) made pizza for the group for supper.  Thanks John.

The evening is spent peeling and chopping.

Andrea tackling a pineapple.

Joycegina rinsing the fruit.

And everyone just keeps going...

....and going.

Soon things start to take shape.

Kendra and Katrina and Ella will be going this time around.

Once the fruit was chopped and placed in the fridge it was time to go home, sleep, and wake up for a 6:30 a.m. arrival.  May that comes fast.  : )

Set up time in the fellowship hall.

Scott agreed to give us a hand, as we had a smaller group this time around.
Thanks Scott!

Katrina and Ella getting the donation envelops ready.

Almost ready for the crowds.

Peter and Ben also agreed to help out.

Napkin making line.  : )

Ready to go.

And I think John and crew are too.

Such a nice guy that Peter -  coming to help us out too.

Annette ready to wash the mounds of dishes that will soon be thrust upon us.

Our FIRST guests.  Whoot.
Same as the past years.
I think they pride themselves on being the first ones.  : )

Now to await the pancakes.
We weren't quite ready for them.  : )

And soon people began arriving.

And coming.....

And coming.  : )

Was wonderful to see everyone.

All enjoy themselves when it comes to this breakfast.
Good food and good fellowship.

John is a master at his craft.  : )

I stay OUT of his way.  : )

The place is humming with people.

Even had a special table set for some larger crowds.

A relaxed atmosphere.

Oh, and our youth section.  : ) They hounded me for sausages.  It was Samantha's bday that day so I got her some.  And Thomas too.  : )

Hmmmm, where's the food.

Yeah, I get people at their finest when I take the table pictures.  : )  They just tolerate me.  : )

Chris and Sarah and Fred came a bit later.

More last minute people, and we were FINE with that.
Had to put out several more tables and had the most people we've ever had at a breakfast.
Must be doing something right. : )

I don't know who took this picture?  I'm falling over.

The master chef finally getting to taste his own creations.

Thanks John for once again being willing to participate.
The morning was a huge success.
We pulled in just over $2000 that morning.
Thanks to all who came out to support our Peru2018 team.
