CIA/ETM Christmas Caroling - December 17th

December 17th!
A great day in history for a couple of reasons.
First, because our youth group went Christmas Caroling at Extendicare Nursing Home.
Second, because....well...it was on this day that two wonderful people were born into this world.
Can you guess?
One was Wilma.
The other?  : )

It's always fun to cheer other people up, especially at Christmas.  We arrived at Extendicare at 7:20 pm.

It was cold outside, but inside it's always quite warm.
We began to gather together.
I'm not sure what Cheryl was up to here...maybe getting ready to conduct?  : )

Kyle came with the festive spirit as well.
Way to go Kyle.  I love the outfit.

We brought our instruments again.
They sounded so good for us, why not spread the joy with others.  Samantha doubled as a music stand, as we didn't have enough.  Thanks Samantha.

Here is the group gathered together and singing.
The residents sang along to many of the songs.

We rotated by doing one song with instrumentation, and the next acapella. I think we did 11 songs or so.  The residents were enjoying our time together.  Some of the songs bring back memories of long ago.

We spent some time after our singing just socializing with those who came.  Here's Laura getting to know someone...

...and Ben...

...and Alexa...

...and others.

When we arrived back at the church, someone asked if we'd be willing to sing some Christmas Carols for the Friendship Group.  Why not!
So away we went.

Here's the group sharing their talent.

All that singing makes one hungry.  : )
And youth group without snack...well....that just can't be, can it?  : )

This time it was a balance between healthy and somewhat healthy.  : )

Seems that some girls were into
 braiding their hair after snack.
They suggested I get my hear done...yeah, Right!
Someone then suggested that Kevin get
his hair done....they tried.  : )

Thanks young people for taking the time to share your talents with others in the Kingdom of God.
Muchly appreciated by all who listened to you this night.
