January CIA Mission Night - Card Making and Dinners for Deacon's

It's time to welcome myself back to my own blog.
Been a very busy six months here at Calvin for me, and I'm FINALLY able to post these events from the life of Calvin church.

There are several of them, so enjoy reading them. If not, enjoy looking at the pictures (I know there are some of you who do just that) : ) .

We begin with one of our Missional nights with CIA.
This Missional night, we decided to assist the Deacons with meal preparation. Certain individuals within Calvin are blessed by them continually.

Here are Sarah and Amy and Wilma working upstairs on a chicken casserole dish of sorts.

Oh yes, and on Tuesday evenings Annette and Ada hold a coffee break session with a couple of individuals.  Here they are getting ready for that.

Jonathan and Simon getting ready to prepare the food items. Nice hair, Jonathan.

Ryan beginning to peel potatoes.  He's such a ham....get it...bahahahaha

Annetta, (the woman in purple) one of our deacons, giving instructions on what needs to be done.

Another station of YP getting ready to prepare food.

The other part of our Mission night was writing cards to our seniors in Calvin.  The grade 7 and 8's did that.

Time to get to work.

Kyle and Marc getting food ready.

Peeling potatoes and onions.  A great combination.

Card making well under way.

Amy and Sarah working and talking....or is that talking and working......hmmmmm

Tobie and Lucy trying, once again, to not have their picture taken.  Hey Alexa.  Surprised you, didn't I?  : )

Miriam, youth leader from Barrhaven CRC (Barrhaven's youth group has joined us this year) learning the finer art of cooking.

Lots of hamburger balls to make.  But noooooo pictures... eh Lucy and Alexa?  : )

Kevin hard at work.
He actually likes cooking, I think.

Break time, I guess.
Interesting Elayna and Jeannine.

Oh, and Nicolette too.

A strange bunch, and it seems to be spreading.

Signing the completed cards.

Ella, always smiling and expressive.

The grade 7 and 8's this year.
A couple more pictures follow.

Time to build a pyramid.
I guess they got bored. : )

The finished cards.

They turned our really nice. Once we handed them out we received several thank you's from the recipients.
Always nice to bless people in Jesus' name.

Wilma doing a final inspection of the cards.  : )

The final product being placed into trays and then the freezer.

Ryan filling the trays.
We were able to make many meals to assist the deacons in their meal preparation.  It was fun to do.  Thanks for allowing us the opportunity to help you.
