CIA Mission Night - Making Care Packages for College/University Students

Another CIA mission night.
This time we decided to make care packages for those in College/University, both in Calvin and for those in OttawaU under the care of Pastor Sid, University Chaplain.

Here's Kevin giving initial directions to get us organized.

This group will be making cards to go on the outside of the care packages.

Getting all the supplies organized.
We had families provide some items, and I bought the rest.

Chris laying out the containers we will be putting the supplies into.

Let the creativity begin!

Putting candy into zip loc bags.

Oh, and our grade 7 and 8's (ETM'rs) spent their time in Catechism class.  A very large group this year.

Part of the task was to make chocolate chip cookies.
I put Elayna in charge.

I see everyone thinks they are living at home.....

This table was decorating the wrapping paper for the outside of the packages.  Home made artistry.

Things starting to take shape.

An aerial view of the care packages.

The cookie cooking crew.

We made a lot of cookies. : )

Hmmmm, recycle?

Olivia working on wrapping the completed packages.

William making sure they had everything in them.

Creativity always takes time.

Still cooking.

The end result of cooking those cookies.

We must have ended up using both kitchens to get the cookies done.

The outside wrapping was very ingenious.

Finished cards.

Busy working hard.

Kevin....making squares?

Hey there, Kyle......

Still cooking...oh, and Lucy trying not to get into one of the pictures.

Ryan loves to cook, but he had to be put on cookie stuffing detail.  Somebody's got to do it.

Kyle came to give him a hand.

The finished product.
Candy, Kraft Dinner, cookies, and all sorts of other goodies.

Simon making the periodic table?

The Avengers....figures....
(Sarah told me I should say "Superheroes" and not "Avengers" since the Flash is not an Avenger.)

Oh, have we seen these two before in OTHER posts......

What you doing, boys????

Cookies, cookies, cookies......

Annette and Ada again.  It's Tuesday night after all.

The packages start accumulating.

So does the mess...

and the weird people.

The final products, and the wonderful group that was able to bless 30+ students.

They were VERY happy and thankful to receive their care packages.

It's fun blessing people in the name of Jesus.
