ETM & CIA Camping - June 2015: Part 2

Welcome back to our CIA/ETM Camping weekend at Lac Philippe.

At the beach we did many different things to stay busy.
Some played catch.

Some watched.

Some relaxed...and others ate snack food. : )

The three amigo's.

Kris heading out.

He kayaked to the other side.
You can just see him in the middle.

I brought along Bocce ball.

More mud castle making.

The game got pretty intense.

Michelle took a real liking to kayaking.  : )

Nice picture.

Elizabeth.

Ella

Katrina

Nice pose Dawson

Parisa enjoyed kayaking too.

Nice pose as well Daniel.

Christina

Jared...this is a sweet picture.

Eventually it was time to take out the picnic table.

So....how do we get this thing out of the water?  : )

Ryan contemplating......

Christina rock skipping?

Kevin and Caralynn conversing.

Kris also conversing..but in a different way.

Jeannine heading out.

You look very relaxed Dawson.

Hey Ryan.....
One moment Ron....

What!

Creative placement of the white ball.

Caralynn posed for some pictures.

Like a flower starting to bloom.  : )

Chillin'

Michelle, William, and Elizabeth....not sure what these siblings are doing, but it was a nice picture nonetheless.

Jeanine decided to come back.  : )

Eventually it was time to return to camp for supper.
When we did, someone noticed this turtle laying eggs right behind Jeannine's tent.

Cool.

But I bet the racoons got the eggs in the evening time.

The turtle.

Jeannine took some pictures by the swamp across from our site.  Bird.

Bird.

Beaver

Not a happy beaver.

Dinner consisted of spaghetti with meat sauce....

....and fresh vegetables needing cutting up.

The sauce is on the stove, and the meat is frying.

And Kyle is trying to break the noodles in 1/2.
I think he bit off more than he could chew? : )

Simon making sure the sauce doesn't burn.

Supper time....
hey...Jeannine......  : )

Everyone seemed to love the food.

Kevin kept the peppers to himself as you can see.  : )

As supper was being cleaned up others relaxed by the fire, that wasn't a fire.

Aaron was our water getter.  The spiggot was down the road, needing a vehicle.  Thanks Aaron.

The bugs must be back again.
Parisa's fashion statement for the weekend.

Once dinner dishes were done the group played Mafia.
I still don't understand that game, but they all had a great time.  Dawson was a great narrator.
We then had a great campfire with more marshmallows and hotdogs and then it was off to bed.
5 degrees celcius for the evening.....brrrrrrr

So remember that cookie container that was in front the boys tent?  Christine is holding it....semi smiling.
That was because at about 1 am most of the camp heard a loud crunching of plastic, and lots of growls from several large racoons who were fighting over the cookie crumbs.
Kris and I got out to fend off the racoons, and discover what all the fuss was about.
Interestingly enough none of the boys seemed to hear all this commotions.  Figures.
As to who was the responsible party here...well, he will remain nameless to protect the guilty.  : )
Lesson learned though I think.

After only a FEW hours of sleep  : )  we were up once again.
Though it was cold, the sun felt warmer this morning.
Breakfast to be served.

Pancakes this time, with oatmeal of course.
These pancakes were the add milk and egg kind and Aaron made the milk and egg portion up separate.
Pretty slick.

A hungry brood waiting for their pancakes.

These boys got the pleasure of doing dishes again.  : )
I'm not sure what Daniel is doing here though.

Once dishes were done, we gathered for a short Bible reading and prayer time.

And then it was time to disassemble camp.

Just as we were getting comfortable in our new surroundings.  : (

I still don't know how all this stuff fit into our vehicles.  : )

Clean up sometimes takes longer than set up, and getting everything to fit back in the same place, same size, isn't always easy.

Hmmmm, this picture makes me dizzy....

My cleaning up.

Down comes the large shelter.  I think it was just as complicated taking it down as setting up.  : )

Kevin helping others pack.

Aaron almost packed up.

I asked several people to walk the site and pick up any garbage.

Once cleaned up it was off to Parent Beach to frolic in the water once again before heading home.

Thomas felt like frolicking in the sand I think.

Someone had badminton I guess.

Reach for it Michelle.

I think Daniel is getting beat up by Kyle and Ryan...hmmmm

Or maybe they were plotting to get Dawson.

Or maybe they just wanted to help Dawson return to shore safely.  : )

Gillian and Elizabeth.
Gillian will be leaving us soon for Sweden.
We will miss her and Carraugh.

Katrina looking for stone to throw, maybe??

Dawson and Jared relaxing in the spring/summer sun.

And Parisa pestering the boys.

Those kayaks were sure fun.
Thanks again Kris for bringing them...and you of course.

Kris and Jeannine.
Cute. : )

Daniel in the kiddie pool.  : )

Caralynn and Kevin in conversation.

Girls hang out.

Jeannine and Kris.  Cute.

Aaron taking a picture of me taking pictures.

More Kayak pictures.

And before we knew it, it was 1 pm and time to head home.  We were thankful for good weather, few bugs, and good times.
September.....Achray once again.  : ) D.V.
