CIA/ETM Christmas Party - 2014

We continue with Christmas events in the ministries of Calvin.

This past Tuesday, December 9 both CIA and ETM'rs went to Extendicare on Starwood Ave. to share Christmas music with the residents there.

We do services there on Sundays and we have started a tradition of singing there with our youth group during Christmas too.
We have brought instruments into the picture the last couple of years.
Simon actually brought an accordion (not his...he borrowed it).
I think William and Jonathan are just posing...I think...

We sang many different Christmas carols.

Well, most of us did.....
Kevin and Marc decided their singing prowess just wasn't up to snuff.

Our group with the residents singing along.

Thanks for the flute and clarinet addition as well.

Everyone into the spirit of the season.
The residents really enjoyed and appreciated the visit.

Once we returned from Extendicare we continued on with our party.
Two games were played.

The first was from Jeannine.
You put a paper on your head, and then with a pen you draw various things.....like....
a floor,
a Christmas tree
a fireplace mantel, etc.

It looked quite funny.

At the end you were given points if certain things happened...like...
your tree actually looked like a tree, or
your presents were actually under the tree.

I can actually say that some drew surprisingly well, and others..............

Some of the Barrhaven CRC contingent.
Glad to have them in our group this year.

The second game was one I stole from our Calvin Christmas party (see that post).
Christmas pictionary.

We broke the group up into 4 teams of about 8 ish.

They competed against each other.

I think that's going to be a Christmas tree....right Tobie??

Hmmmmm....Not sure what Jared is drawing.

Heather got right to work.

Marc is all serious here.....
very competitive I understand.  : )

Tobie and Olivia trying to guess....

Sarah is drawing...

Christine's a pro.
She had practice from the other Christmas party.

Ella has a captive audience.

Keep going Miranda.

Caralynn...hmmmm
A gingerbread house maybe???

Ella must have won the drawing game because she has a candy-cane.

Seems she can draw and eat a candy-cane at the same time.

Alexa is quite competitive too, I discovered.

Eventually time ran out and we moved on to partaking of great Christmas goodies.

Another great event of services and sharing good times.
