CIA/EMT & our College/University luncheon with our 65+er's

As part of my commitment to continue to get the different generations to intermingle here at Calvin, we held another soup and buns and games time.
The groups were our youth (CIA/ETM), our College/University group, and our 65+ r's.

Here you can see them all gathered together intermingled with different ages.

Time for some great soup and buns.

So much to choose from.

Waiting to get their soup and getting acquainted.
Some of our college/university crowd are not from around Ottawa, and don't know many people in Calvin.
Hopefully they will now be able to recognize some faces in our fellowship hall after church.

Some great conversation around the tables.

It took a while to get everyone fed.

Good ol' Daniel.
The pensive one again.
He should be an actor I think.

Food and fellowship..and Daniel  : )

I always like seeing the generations mingle.
Just seems a natural thing to be doing, but it's not necessarily a natural thing, in that I need to organize these sorts of events.
Some day maybe they will become like the natural fabric of Calvin.

Andy making sure he gets his seconds.
The soup was very good.
Thanks to all those who prepared a pot.

After soup, it was time to pull out the games!
Nice face Elayna.

There were games of all kinds.
Here's Al and Ella trying to beat Ben and Katrina.
Crocono can be hard on the fingers....

Dutch Blitz I think?

Bananagrams....I'm not fond of that game.  : )

hmmmm, must have forgot to reduce this picture.
Oh well.  Risk. This game took the longest to complete.

Backgammon.
A game for two.
Two people who didn't know each other before this event.
Neat.

Sequence.
I like that game. : )

Ok, so THIS game is Dutch Blitz...hmmmm
what was that other one then....oh well...moving on!

Shuffling the cards for ????

Shuffle board.

And yes, people needed to clean up.
Thanks for helping Elayna and Megan.

Bert and Colin.
They do know each other already.  : )

Hey, where did Ella come from?

And she's gone again.
She's fast.

Hey, we had dessert too.
I forgot about that.
So, all in all a great event which I think we will have to do again in the new year.
Thanks to all who came out.
It wouldn't have been successful and fun without you.  : )
