Ottawa SERVE 2016 - Day 5: Part 2 - Routine sets in.

Welcome to part two.

Small group time.
Our small groups have been going very well so far.
When you have great material prepared by great people you get great results.

They made blue piggy banks today.
Why you ask?
Well I'll tell you why.
You save your talents so you can share them with others in many and varied ways.

After small group time it was time for the favourite fun thing we do, next to the Talent Show of course.
Glow in the dark bowling.
As usual, I don't do well.  : )

Everyone had a great time bowling again.
Katrina got the high score of 217!
Beginners luck.
Way to go Katrina!

Christina challenged me, saying she would win, but alas, I beat her, and I let her know I beat her too.
All in good fun!

Back from bowling and showers.Time to relax!
Not sure if that's so relaxing Anika.   : )

Philippe wanted to blow bubbles.

He loved it.

Hey Andy.
One of our two BBQ'rs tonight.

Bea just taking a moment (we don't have many of those) to relax and drink in the beautiful week we have been having weather wise.

Bubbles, bubbles, bubbles.

Andy and Bill, our consumate BBQ'rs.

While the food was being cooked, it was time to relax.
Hannah and Janine take on a puzzle challenge.

Francine takes time to draw.

"Spider Kyra" and Lisa tackle a puzzle too.

Nicole got something from her warm fuzzy box.

She loved it.

Ben beat Kayla at cards.
Like, really beat her.  : )

A game of UNO broke out as well.

More puzzles.

And then, before you knew it, SUPPER TIME!

Danny boy!

First there were two

Then three

Emily once again.

Hey, Ella is back.
She wasn't feeling well and went home to sleep off her fever and it worked.
Back to her goofy self again
Glad to have you back Ella.

Chillin' in the food line.

Megan, did you plan this?

The line gets pretty long sometimes.   : )

Hey Hannah.  Nice smile.

Then there were four.

It never seems to end.

Why not chill and have some fun while waiting for your food.

Christine eats first as she is in the praise team.
Seems her table is still in line. : )

Time to fellowship some more.

I brought Larry with me today. :)

Watermellon for dessert.

Hmmmm, seems Kyle is going to show us how strong he is.

And not to be outdone, so is Christina.

Before we knew it, it was worship time again.

Another great crowd out.

Actions to the songs again.

Nice shot of Thomas as work.
Apparently he loves the music as he's rockin' out back here in the sound booth. I'll have to get a picture of that tomorrow.

Each participant expresses him/herself through song in different ways.  Neat to watch.

Our Mentors do as well. : )

Uh, oh.
Supper Ronnie is at it again.

Today, he decided he didn't want his man cave any more.

He had no gifts, he decided. So, what's the point in being superman any more?

But the participants reminded him that he does have gifts.
And since Super Ronnie is getting old and forgetful, they decided to write them on his cape.

Alex may need glasses, as an FYI  :)

I thanked Marky Mark for showing me that I did have gifts.

And then we proceeded to hand out certificates that related to gifts of each of our participants, as they were selected by the group.
Each mentor selected a gift that they saw in their participant as they have gotten to know them this week.
I'll list as many as I can remember, and get the others tomorrow when I ask Mark.
For Jessica it was LOVE

Lisa's was CHEERFULNESS

Andrew's was HUMILITY

Kyle's was POPULARITY

Tyler's was PLAYFULNESS

Time to finish off the collage's started yesterday.

The end result

They really turned out well.

Oh, and here's my daily photo of Melanie.
Sort of has become a tradition.  :)

whoa, that's blurry.

Even blurrier.
Makes my eye's hurt.

I guess I deserved that.

But I did stick a nice picture in to end with.

Another craft was making a shaker.

More collage pictures.

And so that ends day 5 of Ottawa's SERVE 2016.
It's been a great and challenging 5 days so far.
Our Mentors are doing an AMAZING job and our many volunteers are working hard to make this event seem seamless. Thanks to all of you for giving of your time and talents so that our participants may enjoy a week of serving, blessing, and their families a week of respite care in a safe and loving environment.

Time for bed for me.
Tomorrow it's work sites and then pampering and our fancy dinner and talent show.
Should be lots of fun.
Stay tuned if you want to know how it all turns out.
