Good Morning everyone!

We awoke at 8:00 a.m. ish again.

Everyone rises at different times.

Caralynn and Nicole are up and at em.

Chillin time before breakfast.

Ryan looks ready to face the day.
Shauna....not so much.  : )

Tobie and Shannon are chipper and ready to face the day.

The sanctuary is now adorned with pictures of our mentors and participants and their super hero.

Peter, our drummer.

Joanna...not getting much sleep either. : )

Good morning Philippe and Janika

A stop at the nurses station.

Pastor Craig will be with us each morning and open the day with devotions.

Emily, that looks cute.

Breakfast is served.

hmmmmm, mother and daughter stare off over breakfast.

Melanie.  Such a servant this week.  : )

With all the rain we had yesterday, this canoe would have come in handy  : )
A prop for today's service.

We seem to be going Hawaiian.

Church service is at 10 am this morning.
I had Ryan and Jonathan save the team some pews.

Our canoe ready and waiting.

Mark and me rehearsing our last minute drama stuff.
It's been a blast so far playing the role of SuperMan.  : )

After Breakfast we had our morning church service.
John got his drum and he's very happy.
Thanks Leo and Cathy for letting us borrow it.

We commissioned our team this morning as well.

Superman made another appearance.

And our story this morning was Jesus calming the storm.

The story done with a little bit of a twist.

Jesus calming the storm.

We ended our service with "My friends may you grow in Grace". I love that song.  : )

After church and coffee it was time for lunch.
Our kitchen crew hard at work.
We do eat well here, and that only happens because of the many kitchen volunteers we have.

Waiting patiently for Lunch.

Kyra and Lisa doing a super hero puzzle

Caralynn and Nicole also doing a puzzle as well.

Hmmmm, Maddie

Lunch can't come fast enough.

Sarah and Jessica and Maddie chillin.  I don't have many pics of Sarah, as she's here part time.

So this picture needs some explanation.
Mark was breaking the rules (again! : ) )
We are not allowed PDA's at SERVE.
(Public display's of affection).
But, he and Juliette were holding hands and they were caught.
So John came up to him and did the "I'm watching you" sign.
It was too funny.

And before you know it, it was LUNCH TIME.
Sloppy Joe's.

The line up is always long for meals.

Some of us need to have special foods here at SERVE.
We do our best to accommodate.

Nicolette seems to be happy to have her food today. : )

Our warm fuzzy table is being used well.

Hey Emily.

Tobie.  Where's the smile.

Everyone happy and eating.

Awe.  Alex and Corbin.
They seem to be getting along well.

Lauren and Francine.

Caralynn

After Lunch it was small group time.

Nicole and Caralynn

Nicolette, one of the small group leaders this week.  Doing an amazing job.

Alex and Corbin in the thick of it.

Katrina and Brianne working hard.

Ryan getting into things.

Tyler and Ella working through the book together.

Kayla and Ben working through the book

After small group time we headed off to Parliament hill.

We gathered at the base of the peace tower and waited for our tour guides to come.

Anika, what are you pointing out to Philippe.

Oh, the peace tower.

We waited... and waited...and waited

Smile for the camera

While waiting in line, Alex and I had a blast.

He's a real ham.

Waiting for our tours to start.

And the tour begins.

We had a great tour guide.

The house of commons

Library

Queen Victoria

Alex decided to befriend our tour guide as we left the library.  It was fun to watch.

The Senate.

Such interesting interior

I love the inside of the parliament buildings.

Such history there.

The tour ended and we hung out waiting for the two groups.

Chilling.

We walked back to the flame and then had our picture taken.

A nice group shot.

We arrived back at church after showers and the first thing that some do is check their warm fuzzy box.

Ben received a superman key chain.

Supper Time.
Lasagna.
Praise team members get to eat first.

Hey, Annette's on the receiving end of food tonight.
A nice change.

Maddie at it again.

Practice time.

Our kitchen crew for this evening meal.

 Warm fuzzy table humming away

Joy joined us again this evening.

Costume time.

AAAHHHHHH!!!

Corbin and Alex hamming it up.

Christina as wonderwoman.

I wonder who all these people are in REAL life.

Time to get ready for another service.

We opened again with praise songs.

Actions to the songs are always fun.

Thomas on video again.

And then there's SUPERMAN!!!

He's made a mobile super jet.

He was really proud of it.

But he found out he didn't have to do all these things to be important.

Marky Mark is a good teach.

And a good story teller.

We ended off our evening having our mentor's wash our participants feet.

A way for our mentors to serve our participants.

And then it was time for our closing songs.

"Jesus is our SuperHero"

We seem to be getting more and more people on stage.
Hmmmmm some things don't change year to year.

John loving his drum box.

Alex and Janika doing the actions to "Day's of Elijah"

Hey, how'd that slide get in there.

The final event of the day.
Craft time.

The making of clay tablets with gem stones.

Oh Hi Melanie.
Another flattering picture of you.
Just had to put that in. : )

I see Ryan is finding new ways to be precise in getting the right amount of water into the measuring cup.

Once the water is added to the powder, it's mixed

and the poured into the form.

Oh, and here's Joanna B.  She is helping out again this year in our craft department.  Thanks again Joanna.
I hope to get Joycegina and Annette D and Anne, but if I don't, you can look at last year's pictures to find out who they are.  : )

Taking shape.

Nice work Jessica

That's a nice picture.

and here's one with the three of them

Daniel, you look tired. : )

Some nice artwork.

And so ends day two.
Everyone has had their snack, brushed their teeth (at least I hope so) and is in bed sleeping.
And I'm done the blog early tonight.
Time for a shower and off to bed.  : )

Tomorrow we start with our work sites, and the fun activity will be trampolining.  Never done that before.
We will have to see how things go.

Thanks for reading along and being part of the week this way.
Remember, you can join us at 6:30 p.m. tomorrow night for worship time.

Until tomorrow.
