SERVE 2012 - Day 5 -

Hey everyone! Ron has once again given me (Fayth) the go ahead for the blog... Guys, this is gonna be epic!

Morning Lucy and Alex! The early morning blog readers...

Last night, Steven received a "stellar hat" and he absolutely loved it! He has a wand as well, but if he could, Steven would wear this hat 24/7!

The awesome ladies making our breakfast. It was great! Eggs, bacon, and toast is the best breakfast one could ask for :)

Fontana is always one to cheer up people, and this is one of the many ways she does.... facial expressions!

Kyle receiving his breakfast.

And the line continues....

and continues....

Kyle and Ailene talking over their food... Kyle looks just a little bit tired in this picture.

Hey Rachael, how do you feel about your eggs?

Alex and Jonathan - good morning hug

Annette has been in charge of devotions this week and this morning we sang a song about something to the tune of the Adam's Family (don't worry, it was Christian and we said "Amen" at the end)

Morning Sara! And Ron...

"We like our computers... get away!"

Shawn is smiley this morning. Maybe its because he has his phone with him.

John is ready to begin his day at work.

Tour of the retirement home.

John waiting for coffee/tea customers.

Setting up/preparing for coffee break.

Tyler is doing his part as well. Well set, Tyler!

Another group was brought to Redeemer Christian HS. It looks as though they were put on locker duty... and see, Steven still enjoying his hat?

Feeling a little squished there, Jonathan?

Chris hard at work.

Alex is a pro!

Fayth and Joy helped fill water barrels at their work site.

Annette and Fayth had an ongoing water fight. Here, Fayth has just dumped a watering can full of water on her (note the wet shorts...)

And she gets away without a splash (maybe that's just a bit of a lie...)

She's a good sport :)

Checking to see if the barrel is full yet. They can take FoReVeR!.!.!.!

Yet another group went to Bibles For Missions. Here Fontana is helping somehow... not exactly sure how...

Here's Rachael and Jo are doing work too... by the looks of it, in a bathroom? Who knows...

Jovita and Leah taking a break.

Jovita doing a GREAT job cleaning up. I'm sure that made a difference.

Leah sweeping up the dirt as well.

Something wrong Jo? Smile :)

Cool beans!

Water Break! Look at Fontana's style!

Cleaning even in the places not many people look.

Baskets!

Hey Taurie

Jo! You do work! ;)

Leah, you're an awesome woman... you don't need any help :)

You two stretch those *insert name of arm muscles... biceps? forceps? who knows*!

Tyler and Janine getting into the swing of things.

Great job at yoga, Tyler!

Anyone want a hug? Or is that the "palm tree" move?

Simon says touch your shoulders.

I've got the power!

Shawn and Justin working hard at cleaning the cupboards.

Look at those clean cupboards!

Megan, you look great! Love the hair net :)

Niesje and Amy... no, this picture is not "eww!"

And they say girls take pictures in the bathroom... and notice the sign on the door! What a card....

Joy sorting through stuff.

Carolyn and Megan working through piles of food.

Sarah delivering water.

Rebecca and Sarah working together.

Rebecca doing a great job!

Nice pictures ladies!

Lift that box Joy! You can do it!

Lunch time!

Yummy...

:D

Work sites discussion happening here, I believe. Most of the sites have been great but others could use a bit more... work?

Food shot Megan!

Hey Charlotte :)

Hello Shawn, Kristen and Carissa. How was your work site?

Grace helping out during Group Mission.

Sarah and Rebecca working through their mission for the day.

Fontana and Tyler talking.

Charlotte writing the sins/bad things that are part of life. We all did this activity, and it was later brought to the cross in our evening service, but more on that later.

Jonathan and Alex adding space junk to their solar system.

Jovita and Leah making a new solar system to replace the one covered in junk.

Space Junk!

Space bracelets

Good job Amy! Cool bracelet :)

Steven putting his solar system together.

Jonathan... pensive expression?

Bowling alley! We got into the driveway and we were behind 5 buses from some other group. Talk about a full alley!

Zach, Willi, Chris, and Taurie checking out the arcade games.

Attractive, guys...

Amy grabbing her shoes. She did awesome!

Justin and Steven getting their shoes on.

There weren't enough shoes for all of us, so some of use just went in our socks. So much fun! You get to slip and slide everywhere.

John is pumped to go!

Joy starting her game.

Yeah, Rebecca!

Willi doing his "thang"

Here comes the epic moment(s). Go Jo!

Annette's turn. Good form!

Taking a break from the game.

Watching our team play their best!

Alex, wadaya thinkin about?

Steven and Jovita taking their turns.

Go Alex!

Bright flash?

Beautiful ball, Ailene. Your next drawing project :)

Leah, aren't you supposed to face the OTHER way? Did you score?

You bowl that ball, Chris!

Game face, right there.

Awe :) Good friends

John got a pin down! *victory dance*

Good job, Steven!

Like your matching outfit, Carolyn :)

John and Kyle dancing together?

The ride home from bowling! No, we didn't get lost... we just hit ALL the red lights!

Dinner time! Hamburgers, hotdogs, chicken burgers, watermelon, and party mix. Yum :)

Hi Ailene. Does it taste good or are you still deciding?

Cool people, right here ;)

Deedee and Fontana doing something on the computer. You never know these days.

Are you singing on your way to getting food, Niesje?

Actions during "Written in the Word"

Fun song, as you can see by all the smiles :D

Praise through actions

You two did a GREAT job leading a song that kept getting faster..... and faster....and faster... and fasterfasterfaster!

Jonathan took over the drums today. Daniel, our regular drummer, was sick, so we improvised. Considering you haven't played drums much, you did awesome Jonathan!

Multitasking! Playing and keeping an eye on people.

Shellie marking up Ron's face with his sins/things he needs to work on. Apparently he's a control freak... who woulda thought...

Tyler trying to break free from what's holding him back (his sins (Ron)). Tyler is strong and couldn't do it all through muscle and focus. He  learned that he had to remove the reigns of sin from himself before being free.

Rebecca helping Shellie - a black dot on a coffee filter, and then how it becomes less and less dark as more water is added.

Kyle was in charge of the telescope tonight. He showed us some really cool pictures. In the middle of the "hubble bubble with no trouble... on the double" or "the core of the whirlpool galaxy" that is an image of the cross. It is a true illustration of "All heaven declares, the glory of God".

Jovita pinning her messed up picture on the cross.

The sins/bad things were written down and then given to Jesus. Next were handed out clean pictures, illustrating how God cleanses us from sin.

Jovita worshiping through her dancing.

Ron...presenting Shellie with her Astronaut  medal ...

Carissa and Willi sharing a close moment.

All of our pictures pinned to the cross.

Our pictures, made ugly from sin.

Rachael and Taurie, watching their movie (TANGLED!!!!)....

IN STYLE!!!

Shawn playing basketball during sports.

The group for crafts gathering.

Nice smiles, guys!

Kyle brought with him a light that created this result.

Kyle, Leah, and Willi practicing for the talent show tomorrow.

Good form, Zach!

Shawn's turn at the hoop.

Alex is picture perfect :)

The rest of the group working on their frames.

Looking up lyrics for the talent show.

Next was snack and then bed time! Good night!

Ron Here....thanks Fayth for your input once again tonight.  I'll be back tomorrow night............

As a parent, thanks for the break, it was greatly appreciated. It was nice not to worry or feel guilty if I wasn't keeping Zach busy. So thanks so much! I hope you all had a blessed week!
