CIA Graduation Dinner

Each year we say good-bye to a group of young people because they are moving on in life to college/university.  It's a sad time for us as leaders, because we've gotten to know them so well during their time with us in ETM/CIA.

This year, I decided it might be nice to say a special farewell to the 5 who would be leaving us:
Chris
Casey
Megan D
Zack
Mikaela

We decided to host a night of food, fondue style at Janine's house.

Janine did a great job of getting her home ready...no stress, eh Janine....  : )

Kevin getting fondue stuff ready.

Ken and Casey watching Kevin get Fondue stuff ready.... : )

Work began in the kitchen.  A time for work, and socializing as well.

Having fun Mikaela?

Megan D showing up right on schedule....6:35 pm...we started at 6:30 pm.  : )

Andrea came as well.  Nice to see you again Andrea.

The socializing continues.

Here we are seated and ready to begin.

Let the fonduing commence........

Andrea is definitely NOT a vegan!  : )

We spent the next hour or so, dipping and talking and  eating.  yummy.......

Ken enjoying himself.

Let's just say that we had PLENTY of meat to eat...  : )

After eating and getting stuffed, the 4 (Zack couldn't make it) went out to play some badminton.

We took that time to sign some cards for them.

Then it was time for the BEST part of the meal...fondue dessert with chocolate........

I took a minute to catch up on some deep theological reading......

Kevin.....read the inside of his eyelids for a bit.

The 4 grad's.
We took time here to give them their cards, and I handed them a gift in the form of a book on moving on in life and into college.

Kevin, you almost look serious here....  : )

Hey, that's Chris' tie....at least someone is wearing it.

Time for chocolate and fruit.....it was heavenly.

A Megan sandwich....

We played Quelf again.  Tonnes of fun....

Casey ended up having to write a couple of poems for the game.  He did a great job.

We are going to miss you:
Chris,
Megan,
Mikaela
Zack
and
Casey.

I know some of you might return to us next year, and you would be more than welcome to do that.  Have a blessed time as you move on in life and in your schooling.  It has been fun to watch you all mature and grow in faith and life.  May God grant you all exciting times ahead.

Shalom, until we meet again.
