Day 2- Saturday

Greetings all. It's 12:10 am and I'm just finished editing all the pictures of the day, and posting some for you to see. We've had a busy, but good day. Our morning got off to a great sunny start with a hearty breakfast.

Then it was off to our mentor meeting (after showing some pics of yesterday to the group) to learn more about the rest of our teammates coming later in the day.

Then Lunch, and at 1:o0pm they started to arrive. The church became very busy, very fast. Everyone receiving a gift bag, a folder with info in it, a coloured hat for our small group time, and room assignment.

We settled in for a couple of hours of games and getting to know you as we awaited all 11 team members' arrival. As we did so, we had the chance to get our hands dirty with some paint for our body person. It was fun.

After everyone arrived, we had a scavenger hunt and some game time. Then it time for a scrumptious supper, another game, and worship. Lindsay and her group led us in song, and Shellie led us in an interactive message. Then it was off to small group time, and ending the evening with DEATH BY CHOCOLATE dessert.

Everyone then settled into bed and we held our leaders meeting to discuss issues of the day. We've begun to bond, we've learned lots about our teammates, and tomorrow we worship with our congregation and then it's off to parliament hill to check out the sites.

It's been wonderful to meet our 11 teammates today. The smiles, the tears, the struggles with homesickness, the jokes, the feelings of accomplishment already early in our time together have all been wonderful times to cherish already. Please pray for our teammates, and the mentors as we continue to adjust to each other in the short time we will be together. Pray that friendships will develop and that some home sickness will dissipate. Pray for our mentors as they continue in their journey of understanding and learning.

More to come tomorrow.

Enjoy the pictures below which cover the happenings of the day.

To Jackie
Sorry to hear your allergies are bad. Maybe stay away from sugar as well. Is it a carpeted floor that you are sleeping on? That maybe affecting it as well. Hang in there, be cheerful despite how you feel. Lots of people were asking about you at church today. Opa is still the same. Dad and I went to see him and Oma Friday afternoon. George Andrew and Emma biked from Barrie to Orrilla yesterday. Then Andrew had to bike back to get the truck. His butt was a little sore. I had a great day quilting. Lots of Love Mom
