Trip to Montreal Seafarers - Dec 2019

Each year Calvin gathers together articles of clothing, toiletries, etc., and puts together packages that go to seafarers at Christmas time.

In the past, they have been packed in shoeboxes, but this year we were asked to place them into bags.

Each year I travel to Montreal to deliver them to the Montreal Seafarer Centre, and take whoever may want to join me.
This year it was Lewis...

...and Corwin

The bags are all in the van.
I forget the count this year, but it was comparable to other years.

Carol Ann also came along.

After a two hour drive through the crazy Montreal road construction, we arrive at the seafarer centre and start to unload the parcels.

How many can you take in one load?
Always a competition. : )

Here is where our bags went.

They are then sorted and placed into larger IKEA bags for transport to the ships.

Our happy group : )

Carol Ann brought her camera along.
It's her first time here and she was very interested in what goes on here.

Someone stole my Santa hat : (

Michelle gives us the tour.

The money board.
Fascinating.

It's nice to see from a distance.

And where we are located in regards to where the ships are located.

Lewis and Corwin took in some pool as we talked.  : )

Carol Ann buys a souvenir.  : )

And before we knew it we were off for home.
Another year of gifts for the seafarers and letting others see what the centre is all about.
Until next year  : )  D.V.
