CIA/ETM Pancake Breakfast - 10 year anniversary

Greetings all,
Before I started to post this blog entry I wanted to know how many pancake breakfasts we have held over the years...

Pancake Breakfasts with JOHN being the head cook.

Apparently THOSE are the only ones that count :)

Sooooooo,
We started back in 2009, with John.

You should take a look back at that first entry in January or February.
Brings back great memories.  : )
Then we did the following:
2010 for Peru trip
2011 Youth Group
2012 for Peru trip
2013 for Youth Group
2014 for Peru trip
2015 for Youth Group
2016 for Peru Trip
Took a break in 2017
2018 for Peru trip
and now this one in Feb 2019.

These breakfasts have always been a highlight for our church and John is the real reason why.  : )
Thanks for doing this for so long John.

We start the evening before, preparing the fruit that goes with the panekoeken.  Usually a smaller crowd.

John's frying pan supply.
I see he has a brand new one just for this occasion.
How sweet  : )

Lots of washing and cutting of fruit.

The end result.
I always like the colour presentation.

Before we know it we arrive at 6:30 am Saturday
ready to get ready.
(note to self, we can really come about 6:45 to 7:00 am  : )

Good morning Judy.  : )
Enough said!

Setting up the fellowship hall.

And getting the donation envelops ready

An entire family coming to help out  : )
Well, almost.

Time for the kitchen to start hopping, and for me to exit out of it.

Father and son getting things ready.

Ready for our guests.

The calm before the storm.  : )

Pep talk time from me...or was that from John.
Hmmmmmm

Servers sorting out which tables they will serve.

Presentation is everything.

Dishwasher is an equally important job.

Samantha giving her dad some tips.
NOT!   : )

And so the test panakoeken begins.  : )

Our first patrons.
Nathan and Margaret just got beat out this time. : )

Kendra was our official whipped cream hander outter.
She did a great job.

And every year something new pops up.
This year it's organizing the dirty dishes.
Worked out quite well actually.

People have arrived and the mayhem begins.

Everyone enjoying the food.
First shift (8 am) is always a bit quieter : )

John's assembly line.

Peter helped out once again on the blueberry pancakes.
Cleanliness is...well...imperative  : )

Hard at work.

Some pics of our patrons.
Couldn't do this without them  : )

The place is hoppin again.
I love it!

I think many of the worlds problems are solved at events like this.  : )

Or it's just plain fun bantering back and forth.

Kendra, keep up the good work.  : )

My family finally arrived.  : )

The younger table.  :)

Second shift is well into their meal.

And John just keeps on keeping on.

Time for us to finally eat.

I love how John masters his panekoeken.

And finally he gets to relax and eat too.
Thanks AGAIN John.

We cleared just over $2300 this year with a portion going to Ottawa Inner City Ministries Youth Art Program and the rest to our youth to help them cover the costs of events.

Until next year.  D.V.!
