Youth Group Christmas Party

Our final Youth event for the 2018 year.
The annual Christmas Party!!!

This year we had new games in addition to some old ones.

We started off in the youth room doing Christmas Trivia.
Some easy questions, some not so easy.  : )

We then moved upstairs and played "Christmas Carol Bingo" using Jube Jubes.

Was nice to hear the group break out into song each time I called out a carol.
Even sounded good.

Next we split the group into for smaller groups and played a game in which teams stacked cups and unstacked them, using only one hand.
First group to get it done wins.

You can see Rachel, (well partially) cheering her group on.  Rather exuberantly.

I discovered that Kyra is somewhat competitive too. : )

Lennea seems equally exuberant.  : )

The towers taking shape

We did several rounds.

A creative way to stack them Elizabeth.  : )

Kyra continues to cheer and cheer.  : )

The next game was sorting the different coloured Jube Jubes into cups.  Most sorted in a minute, wins it.

Again, several rounds were done.

Go Victoria Go!  : )

Battle of the youth leaders.
You can do it Judy.

Next game was starting with one cup, then a plate, then two cups, then a plate, then three all the way to five.

Its not as easy as it seemed to have looked to some  : )

But it is working.

Almost Corwin.  Almost

And Nisse proves it can be done!

Almost there Ryne.

I think Rhys needed to start over  : )

Tada!

Another game was placing a plastic spoon in your mouth, and putting a small gift on the spoon.

And then running to a table to drop the gift onto a plate.

The first group to get all the gifts in the plate wins.

IF you drop it, you start over.

A short clip of the game in action

The final game was the "Left" and "Right" Game.
Five gifts are handed out in the circle.  Then a story is read (by moi) and every time the word "left" or "right" is said the gift moves left or right.  Whoever has the gift at the end of the story gets to keep it.

Here's moi handing out the gifts.

I gave Scott my phone to take pictures.
Bad idea  : )

: )

We ended our time with singing Silent Night together.
And then the winning team was announced and Tim's cards and Christmas Crackers (second place) were handed out.

And then FOOD time!

And fellowship time.

Big and small groups.

And laughter.

And, well, apparently chairs are an option.  : )

A great evening.
Until next year.  D.V.
