CIA/ETM Makes Student Care Packages and Cards for Gamaliel Church

On Tuesday, February 9th, CIA and ETM held another of it's Mission nights.  Last year at about this time we experimented and prepared care packages for the College/University students we had here at Calvin and for Sid's ministry in Ottawa U.

It was such a hit, we decided to do it again.
Marc and company were our cookie makers this year.

I purchased 60 containers (reusable for a student to store things in) this time and we needed to fill them all with all kinds of goodies.  Time to sort through what we have.  Kind of like Christmas time.

A group also took the time to personalize the paper we use to wrap the containers in.

Another group prepared cards of greeting to go into the boxes.

Yes Shauna?
Trying to be Vanna W?
This group took time to make cards for Gamaliel church in Peru.  I obtained Spanish sayings and we put them on the cards.  We will give them to Pastor Sergio when we get to Peru to hand out to his Congregation after we leave.

I think that's Kyra doing great detail work on a card?

Jeannine brought her card making equipment.
Thanks Jeannine.

Kyle sorting through the items.

Hey there Victor and company.  Doing a great job.

Such an organized kitchen Marc.
You'd think you have done this before.

Ella hard a work.

Katrina too.

I think they made over 30 dozen cookies, with a 1/2 dozen going into each box.

Miriam and Zoe making dough.  : )

Daniel taking a break.
He had a sore wrist from all that colouring.  : )

Caralynn sorting through the cough candies.
Interesting system Caralynn.

Hey there Karlena.

The containers keep getting filled.

And the cards keep getting churned out.

Michelle working hard as well.

And then there's Ella.....'nough said. : )

Finished cookies cooling off.

Working like a well oiled machine.

The wrapping paper getting further along.

And the boxes getting fuller.

Some finished Spanish Cards.

Nicolette and Ben playing catch with the Zip Loc bags.
Such children sometimes.  : )

But it was efficient.  : )

I think these guys did more talking than drawing. : )

The boxes are complete and ready to be sealed and wrapped.  Nice job.

Oh, Wait.  We need the cookies still.

The finished product, sealed and ready to go into the containers.

Time to wrap things up....get it....
bahahahahaha

Everyone worked hard and had lots of fun blessings others.

More cards done.

And time to get those containers wrapped.
Time' almost up.

So others pitched in to help.

What a mess!  : )

Getting there.

Finally completed.

The boxes finished.

And Ben modelling with them.

These will now be giving out to students at Ottawa U and students that come to Calvin.  30 and 30.

The next morning I dropped the 30 containers off to Sid, and apparently students couldn't wait till I arrived.

We hope people were blessed by this small Random Act of Kindness Everywhere  (R.A.K.E.)  (That's for your benefit Sid : ) )
