Ottawa SERVE 2016 - Day 2 - Part 1: Participants Arrive

Greetings all,
Day 2 is in the books.
It's been a long and tiring and good day.
All our participants are now here safe and sound and we are getting to know them.

But let's start with the beginning of the day.
It began at 8:30 with breakfast.
I had a not so wonderful sleep last night.
First, as I was done the blog and getting ready for bed, I pulled out my air mattress I was going to use for the night and discovered it was full of mold.  I mean full of it.  YUCK.  So  I went home to get another one I had.
Came back at 1 a.m. and settled in.
Only to find this air matress has a leak in it.

So I found a cot that I knew was lying around and used it, but boy, was it hard to sleep on.
So, I think I got about 2.5 hours sleep.
Here's my office looking neat and tidy.
I bought a new air mattress today, which will hopefully help.

Here's the boxes that hold all the warm fuzzy stuff.

Our kitchen lady in charge for the day.

Getting things organized.

Good morning gentlemen.

Coffee time.  Even I had a regular coffee this morning.

I just realized that this comprises our male mentor contingent.  Way to go guys.

Chillin' before breakfast.

Awe, good morning hello's.

Breakfast time.

Hey Tobie.  : )

Samantha helped prepare lunch today.

Because her dad was in charge.

I got a shot of Christine finally.

Mentor rooms are starting to get messy already.
Nicolette joined us today.

After breakfast we did more training. Joanna went over who our participants will be and we handed out t-shirts.

The towels are starting to take shape once again.

We set up the groups sites once again.

And before we knew it, it was lunch time.

Everyone waiting.  Hungry and restless.

Thanks Brenda and Joycegina for preparing lunch for us.
