Community Car Wash hosted by CIA - July 9th

This seems such a long time ago, but on Saturday, July 9th, CIA/ETM held a community car wash.  It was a beautiful morning.  Our desire was to simply bless anyone who came in for a car wash, and not ask for any donations.   If anyone asked why were doing this we would explain what our youth group is about and the church, etc.

Seems that Melanie had a hard evening...she's starting out well.  : )

We did a bit of discussing as to what to expect, what to do, and assign tasks to everyone.

Megan and Rosy grabbed the hose from the church basement.

Jacob and Chris started setting up the shelter to keep the hot summer sun off our guests.

Amy and Sarah setting things up.

Rosy getting things ready, but it looks like Megan is lost...."Ron what do I do...."  : )

Chris and Jacob STILL setting up the shelter.  : )

Fontana's mom was our first guest.  A great way to test out our car washing skills.  There was room for improvement, and they did get better as the day wore on.

Signs were made up to draw people into the parking lot.

Seems Christine has been following our Facebook stuff and decided to show up for a car wash too.  We didn't advertise to the church on purpose  : )

Our first guest.

We refilled the pails often to ensure we had clean water.

We managed to wash a Porsche and a Mercedes and another nice car that I can't remember now.......This person brought her own car wash soap and wash cloths.  Interesting.

A nice big truck and trailer.

Just a picture to prove I worked too.  : ) Seems drying cars is an art.......

 Lookin' good.

Chris helping everyone stay cool.

Sarah working hard.

Everyone did an awesome job of washing.  This car was dirty, but cleaned up very well. The owner was very happy.

Our shelter up, and the tree helped for shade as well.

Chris B and Olivia ready to......

spray Fontana and Hannah.  I hope you didn't miss  : )

We had a great time doing this car wash, and discovered something as well.  Even when you don't want money for something like this, people still feel they need to donate.  Only a handful of people thought this was a wonderful idea and didn't offer to give us a donation.  The rest still thought it was a wonderful idea, but wanted to donate something, even insisting.    Interesting......
