We began the day by accumulating everyone in the fellowship hall and praying together to start the day of right. Here are some of the guys looking macho...or something like that : ) .
The hardest part of the day is putting the harness on. You have to get it on just right, right Hannah!!
Some of the gang waiting for final instructions. Apparently John borrowed this nice yellow hat. Keep a tight grip on it eh John......ask him about his hat sometime : )
Chris thought the carabeeners (not sure you spell it, and I'm not going to look for the right spelling either) would look pretty good on his ears.
Everyone in line waiting for final adjustments. Everything needs to fit comfortably now, because 3 hours in an uncomfortable harness is NOT a good thing, right Jonah.
Hannah on the course too, but she seems to be a bit nervous or something. Go figure....she did it last year too!
An exchange student from Germany was staying with Leah's family. She came along and enjoyed the day with us.
Jacob had a great time on the course, though he seems to be holding on rather tightly in this picture.
Jonah really enjoyed himself. Apparently he did the course twice. Going back and forth on each element because no one was waiting before or behind him.
Chad had never been on the course before, but makes himself at home very quickly. You have to get Janine to do the course this year Chad.
Tracey, Wilma, and I were the last on the course for our group. Thankfully there was no one behind us. Wilma behaved herself this year, getting no warnings. Good thing I was with them though. Seems that both of them forgot some key elements in high roping, which could have proven to be not so healthy for them. The course does take concentration, all the way through.
Hey, these YP are breaking the rules. What were they again. 3 on a platform, 2 on an element, and only 1 on a zip line. How many are on this platform??????
Hannah, on your back, or crawling through. Which is the best way to get through those barrels.......seems like you preferred crawling.
This element was the hardest for me, and not liked by many. They did take out the stirrups this year. Apparently too many people needed rescuing. I was happy they took it out.!!
Makusi is contemplating taking this extreme zip line. They were VERY high. You are beyond the point of no return Makusi. You might as well close your eyes, scream, and go!
Now some of us come to these course to experience the elements and be challenged by them. Others of of seem to have that relationship, relationship, relationship thing down to a science, but are practicing it at the WRONG time. Take John and Brian for instance here. Notice the back log of people asking them to stop talking and get moving! : )
Well, maybe that's not quite what is happening here, but it's a great way to interpret this picture, don't you think?
A great view of what it's like from the extreme zip line. It's VERY high....and I DON'T like heights.
Megan is always shy when it comes to camera shots. She even manages to avoid having her face on a picture without even knowing it.
Hey, that's me. I had a good time on the course again too. Even the extreme zip lines, but it sure was HIGH. Another good lesson in facing our/my fears.
Hmmm, I wonder who's eye this is? Any guesses?
All in all, another great day in the trees and good fellowship together too. If we go again next year, maybe you want to come along too? All you have to be is over 5 feet tall.
Oh, and below is a short video of Chad on the extreme zip lines. Just to give you a flavor of what it's like. : ) Enjoy.
